Zimonjic and Llodra lost in match for QF

Spanish-Italian team David Marrero and Andreas Seppi stunned third seeds Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic 7-6(4), 6-4 in 80 minutes. Llodra and Zimonjic, who came into the US Open in strong form, offered up 15 unforced errors and lost serve once in the second set as they dropped to a 34-12 mark on the season.

Marrero and Seppi are playing together for the first time. The 27-year-old Seppi has once before been to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam, reaching the last eight at the 2009 Australian Open (w/ Bolelli), but this is new territory for the 31-year-old Marrero.
