Serbia’s Nenad Zimonjic and France’s Julien Benneteau made a successful start at the doubles competition at Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome after beating the Polish pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski by 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 10-4.

Zimonjic and Benneteau will next play second seeds Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez of Spain.

The prize money at the ATP Masters in Rome is EUR 3,204,000, and the winning doubles pair will get a check for EUR 155,000.
