Zimonjic, Matkowski lose to Bryan brothers in Paris

Serbia’s Nenad Zimonjic and Poland’s Marcin Matkowski saw their hopes of reaching the French Open semifinals dashed by Bob and Mike Bryan of the United States, who beat them 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.

The Serbian-Polish combination had a chance to make a comeback after saving three match points in the second set, when the Americans had a 5-4 lead on Zimonjic’s serve, and winning the resulting tie-break.

The Bryan brothers, however, waited to strike at the end of the third set and broke the opponents’ serve to reach the semis, where they will play Italy’s Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini, who beat Radu Albot of Moldova and Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic two sets to one.
