Nenad Zimonjic and Sam Stosur won the Wimbledon mixed doubles crown on Sunday with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Max Mirnyi and Hao-Ching Chan.
The Serbian/Australian duo needed just 56 minutes to triumph, converting three of their seven break points and winning 87 per cent of their first service points. They lost just one set en route to the title.
The 38-year-old Zimonjic captured his fifth Grand Slam mixed doubles title. His previous victories came at the 2004 Australian Open (w/ Bovina), 2006 Roland Garros (w/ Srebotnik), 2008 Australian Open (w/ Tiantian) and 2010 Roland Garros (w/ Srebotnik).
The Serb had reached the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles with partner Daniel Nestor, losing to Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek in four sets.
