Zimonjic/Matkowski reach Montreal QFs

Serbia’s Nenad Zimonjic and his doubles partner Marcin Matkowski have qualified for the Rogers Cup doubles quarterfinals in Montreal after defeating the French duo of Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-5, 7-5 early on Friday.

Zimonjic and Matkowski will next play Daniel Nestor of Canada and Édouard Roger-Vasselin of France, who previously beat Ivan Dodig of Croatia and Marcelo Melo of Brazil 6-4, 6-2.

Also in the quarterfinals are Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic, who beat Andy Murray of Great Britain and Leander Paes of Australia 6-4, 7-6 (9-7). They will next meet Britain’s Jamie Murray and India’s John Peers.
